North Avon Driving Instructors Association, with South
Gloucestershire Council's Road Safety Team now offer:
These are 6 week courses, running throughout the year. They are aimed at 16 years olds, and have a practical and theory element to the course. Classroom training is for 1 hour on a Thursday evening. Practical sessions (1 hour) are held each week of the course on either a Saturday or Sunday morning.
Pupils will learn about the theory of driving, including the responsibility, the dangers, and some theory, by learning what mistakes you are most likely to make when you first pass your driving test, you are less likely to make them.
All the practical sessions are taught in a private road network, this is where you will learn basic car control, including steering, clutch control, using the gears, and dealing with junctions. This is undertaken by a fully qualified driving instructor, in a dual controlled car. Your driving skills will quickly grow along with your confidence so you will be better prepared for that all important 1st Driving lesson on their 17th Birthday.
